1000 Books Before Kindergarten
HOURS: Monday-Thursday 9:00am - 9:00pm | Friday-Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm | Sunday 12:00pm - 5:00pm
"Research shows that as many as one in five children struggle with learning to read. Since reading ability is a strong early indicator of academic success, it's essential to build these skills early. Formal public education typically begins at ages 5 or 6, but the critical learning window starts much earlier." Source: 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Foundation.

Tips for Young Readers
- All books count. Books can be from the library or your home. All types of books count — board books, picture books, e-books, and magazines.
- Read daily. Focus on building a habit rather than reading for a set amount of time.
- Read the same book again and again. This helps children build comprehension. Each time a story is read, count it!
- Read the pictures. Any time spent with a book fosters language and understanding.
